Per the Spellbinding Handbook:
Examples:
1. HER: My ex-husband just left me one day.
How about, "That's horrible. Nobody should ever have to go through that. But now with all this free time, what do you look most forward to spending it on?"
2. HER: My BF sucks. OR I'm not sure if I love my BF anymore.
Should I ask why to extract details that allow for a smoother thread cut? If not, how would I thread cut this immediately?
The examples given in the video and handbook are great. But how would you thread cut when she starts complaining about her BF/husband?Rules of thread cutting:
1. Select a word or sentiment from her last sentence or two and branch off into a new, more positive thread
2. Don't get sad or commiserate too much
3. Be careful not to ignore the emotion that she's trying to convey – use it to branch onto a better thread
