My friend and I were on a weekend trip, visiting Copenhagen. Decided to check out a bar/small club in the center. Place seemed cool: mixed age crowd, a dance floor in the basement with some seating areas, a lounge in the ground floor and also a smoking area outside, with tables laid out.
Dance floor was way too packed and my club dancing skills aren't anywhere good, so I decided to stick mostly to the lounge and smoking area. Also, I was tired and my fundamentals, especially eye contact, weren't the best.
My friend and I are having drinks at the entrance of the smoking area when I notice two women, probably in their 30's, sitting at a table opposite each other. One of them is pretty cute. They are talking but also don't seem that engrossed, the cute one looking around once in a while. I tell my friend I'll talk to her, and he says she looks too cold and probably won't want to talk (he's not into pickup, only knows about it coz of me). I laugh and say then I have to see if that's true
I go upto the table, address the cute one:
I then sit down with her saying "Lemme sit here for a few minutes before I go back to exploring inside".
All this while her friend (lets call her HBFriend) has been standoffish and cold while she has been neutral-friendly. I keep talking with her, talking about my weekend trip and how I found the city, and also about where I live.
I notice that this is going stale, so I shift, bringing the other girl in: I ask HBFriend how they know each other. Turns out they know each other for quite sometime and even live in the same building now. Now that I've made them talk about themselves, and I've been teasing HB on and off, the vibe is more lively and fun. I also touched her shoulder sometimes when I was teasing her to get some kino in. She seems pretty neutral about it from her body language: no resistance but also no submissive signals. With her friend there, I couldn't think of any other kino
I'm also noticing another thing: even though my attention is majorly towards HB, HBFriend has thawed and is asking me questions. I also have a feeling HB is actually not available and is subtly trying to make me engage with HBFriend more. Can't exactly explain why I felt that: maybe coz she was creating spaces in the conversation and eyeing HBFriend to talk. But that could also be coz she wanted her to feel more included?
Anyway, I continue with the conversation with both of them and we're all having fun. I ask who is more social, and it was unanimous that HB was the social one. I joke that HB dragged HBFriend to the club, but turns out HBFriend was the one who insisted to go out (another hint she might be wanting some dick?).
In the meantime, suddenly some dude comes and sits beside HBFriend, without an introduction or anything. I assumed he's a friend and we continue talking. At a lull in the conversation, they look at him and turns out he is some random dude. He says that he finds our conversation fascinating. Anyway, from his body language and whatever he says, I see he's a chode, no threat. I continue the conversation, and the girls focus on me, ignoring him.
At this point, I have been talking to them for atleast half an hour, and everyone's enjoying the conversation. But I don't feel its going anywhere. To try to move things forward, after HB makes a joke, I qualify her:
The whole table is now quiet and its getting awkward. I change the subject to something about Copenhagen and it goes back to normal.
We talk a bit more, but I'm seeing no opportunity. I say that I'll go refill my drink and check inside, and left them. Thought it might be possible to re-engage them later.
I later saw them at a different table, sitting with 2 guys. The guy beside HBFriend was sitting very close to her, while HB kept quite some distance to her guy. So maybe I was right about HBFriend being the available one
What do you think guys? What could I have done differently?
I couldn't think of ways to isolate her: if it was a 3-set, it would be much easier: the other 2 can keep each other engaged. Or if the guy who came and sat down, if he was cool, maybe he could have kept HBFriend engaged.

The girl then playfully wrapped her coat more so that her dress wasn't visibleDarkJedi: Hey! How's your night going?
HB: Its going...ok I guess?
DarkJedi: Ok? Not the most exciting night I see?
HB: I mean, yeah it's fine
DarkJedi: Well, anyway, I was talking to your friend and I noticed you looked interesting. I see you've got a cute dress that's peeking from under your coat
Then I introduce myself to her and her friend. We exchange a bunch of getting-to-know questions, with a few teases and rapport-breaks thrown in.DarkJedi: Haha too late, I have already seen it!

She had NO REACTION. Mayyybe slight discomfort.DarkJedi: You know what? I came over coz you're cute, but you're fun too![]()
