Hey fellas,

We've finally switched to the new server (I've basically been dealing with migration and tech stuff for the past 7 or 8 days - spending the majority of my time on this actually), and I'm thrilled to say we've had a fantastic team helping us make it through the migration as seamlessly as possible.

A handful of new posts made earlier today I'm told were lost on the discussion boards - my apologies for that. I'm going to see if we're able to get them back, though chances are we won't be - they'll be on the old server with specific post IDs, while any new posts made since the new server went live would've been assigned those IDs on the new boards, making bringing the recent posts on the old server over to the new one a huge tangle. Anyway, I'll ask our tech pro to have a look into it and see if there's still a way to save these posts.

Anyway! The new server appears to be loading about 50% faster if my before and after measurements are accurate (they should be... I used Pingdom Tools, and they're good). We're also with a host that has one of the best SLAs in the industry, and everyone I've talked to has experienced virtually no downtime with them. And I'll be the first to tell you I've been floored by the level of support we've received - support ticket responses in under an hour (and I've messaged back and forth with them probably a hundred+ times over the past week). Our old host took about 36 hours to get you a response... I think they just rolled their dedicated clients in with all their masses of shared hosting clients, despite the fact that the latter is paying 3,750% more for the service. Good reason never to stay with the same host if you run a web business and decide to upgrade from shared to dedicated hosting - most companies really are mostly focused on serving only one or the other of these demographics properly.

So, my apologies for the lost posts, but unless this server blows up and we move back to the old one (extremely unlikely, since we've been testing it for a week), you won't have to worry about The Case Of The Disappearing Forum Threads/Responses again.

And, you should have a much faster, more seamless experience on GC from here on out (with no more downtime, fingers crossed).

UPDATE: We've restored the missing posts from the old database, and all should be right with the world now.
