Hey y'all, Jay here.
I was sitting down and thinking about game in between my classes today and I remembered something I came across in Europe almost a year ago, and wanted to elaborate on it here and let everyone else who ever plans on traveling to foreign places know about it.
I took a trip to Amsterdam and Paris for a couple weeks in June of 2012, and honestly, it changed my life. I realized that America is such a small part of gaming girls worldwide, and that many of the social things we worry about in America mean absolutely nothing overseas.
That being said, I will get to the specific point of this post.
When I took this trip almost a year ago I had been reading Girlschase for a good eight months, and while I hadn't reached the height of my game yet I was confident in my ability to translate my game to different countries. Amsterdam turned out to be a huge clusterfuck of different cultures' people that just plain old didn't give a fuck, and that led to very easy lays, which is great, but that is a whole different story/post. Something that intrigued me in France is what this post is about.
While I knew absolutely zero Dutch (which turned out not to matter because 90% of people in Amsterdam speak English), I came to Paris knowing passable French. Gaming French girls, the first thing I realized is that the reaction to American men is going to be hostile or aloof a lot of the time, and that this is something that has to be worked past. Knowing French helps a lot, and though I wasn't quite fluent, the difference in initial attraction at least doubled when I opened a girl in French.
Opening these French girls in French led me to notice a little phenomenon I didn't quite understand at the time.
Because I didn't know the language quite well enough to be completely fluent, I had to pause every now and again to think of how I wanted to word a certain statement or question in French. I found that this halted way of speaking, when handled smoothly rather than awkwardly, led to an increased attraction level in the French girls I was talking to.
The way I think of it is that I didn't want to sound like an idiot, so rather than speaking quickly and stumbling over my words, I implemented 'pregnant pauses' to make the flow of conversation feel more natural as I thought of exactly how I was going to word each sentence.
I didn't realize it at the time, but this led the general conversation to feel more sexual as well as more natural as I intended it to be.
So as specific as this advice and revelation is, if you are ever gaming in a foreign country when you know the language, focus on speaking slowly and really knowing what you want to say to this exotic girl to make her want you.
