A young hostess at a restaurant I frequent has very low eye contact with everyone. She is not looking down but to the side. She is looking straight ahead but not at what seems to be her center off attention. Two weeks ago I really noticed it when a large group of young guys came in. At first I thought she was ignoring them as she was not looking in their directions but about 20 degrees to the right. She then proceeded to get with the other hostess to get ready to seat the group. She had definitely had seen the group. Later on I went to pay the bill, she was standing by the cashier. It looked like she was staring out the window past me but she started talking to me. I felt like she was talking to someone next to me but she was definitely talking to me. Tonight I ate there again and she was the cashier. When I paid the bill I purposely moved to her left side. This time she followed and looked directly at me when we talked. Have you ever seen someone look of center like this? I have seen people day dream and half way pay attention when they are talked to but this is different. She is paying attention just not looking directly at what she is paying attention to. Do you think she has a vision problem or something else? I know I am not talking about picking up this girl but there is a lot of focus on eye contact here so I thought someone might know about this. Also she does not have lazy eye. I know several people with lazy eye and that is not her issue.
