So my typical way of making the interaction man-to-woman from early on are direct compliments and teasing (sometimes right from the opener).
However, these two also have drawbacks. Teasing tends to bring out my "funny guy" instinct (which I had to learn how to tame in the past as the entertainer gets a lot of laughs but doesn't really get laid) and direct compliments are like going all in in poker: they either work very well or make the girl self-conscious/defensive.
Two things I am experimenting are indirect compliments and cold reading.
Opened a girl in a club with "Are you Megan Fox's younger sister?". I didn't give her a direct compliment but I implied she was beautiful by comparing her to a famous actress. Worked fairly well.
Cold reading is tough. I told a girl with: "You look very smart, you must have been the best one in your class back in high school". Turns out she was a disaster at school and risked having to repeat a school year.
What other tactics do you employ to make sure that, from early on, the interaction is on a man-to-woman level and not simply social?
