What can you do for girls who give an excuse in response to a proposed date?

Hi guys,

Recently met a girl and after our first date, she actually broke her finger. Well, at first I thought she was lying but after meeting for the second date, she actually did break her finger. I ended up only being able to lightly make out with her before she had to take a bus home. Afterwards, I proposed to meet again, but this time she texts in response:

"Hey sorry I've been swamped this whole week (in response to why she was late in her texts), turns out I need surgery for my finger, lets talk about it next week..."

In this case, I know that chase has a good ball-in-your court text, but it doesn't seem appropriate here. Additionally, I can't really say something like, "Let me know :)" because if she doesnt respond back, then I basically can't really initiate a meetup with her again as it makes me seem too eager. Does anyone have any tips as to what I can text in these circumstances that make it appear like I am cool and under control without being too eager? Thanks!

Perpetualsun,

You don't need a ball-in-her-court text here, man! She's having surgery on her finger haha. Totally legit excuse. Just tell her something like:

"Damn, surgery eh? That sucks, what a downer. But, I'm sure they'll have you all patched up and you'll be back to new in no time. And yeah, sure thing! No worries. Next week sounds good. :)"

The ball-in-her-court thing is when the girl is giving you cruddy excuses (like her cat is sick or some dumb shit) or else she's turned down a couple of date requests previously. This girl is neither of those, as far as I can tell here.

You should be good. Just show concern for her having the surgery on her finger, and let her know next week is totally fine, and then hit her up then!

Good luck, P!
