hey metomeya, i appreciate this is your first blog, or so i gathered from the wording in your post? so ill go easy on you! its a very simplistic layout, which is not bad per se, but you still need something else going on. its just a tad too bland if im honest, you need something to catch the eye, some colors or graphics, some kind of individualization to the website at the moment its too generic. layout alone is okay, but i just believe the aesthetics could be improved. but i am sure you are aware of that and will add those kind of things later.

also look at improving the website view from a mobile. the first time i viewed your blog i did so on my iphone and couldn't see most of the navigation. decent mobile layout is an important element to consider when creating a blog aimed at a specific demographic ie younger people in your case because, potentially, a lot of your viewers could be accessing your site from mobile. in fact fuck specific age groups, a lot of people generally age regardless will view from a mobile. its the 21st century, so work on that.

content wise, there are a lot of generalizations from what i could see, make sure you backup your claims with evidence to avoid coming across as overly opinionated or as though you are trying to inflict your own personal world view and experiences upon the reader.

but i think overtime if you put in the work etc and keep improving upon the blog it could be great. so keep going and good luck! i love the name of the site.

Ya, I feel like the simple template is good, but I need an extra something so it doesn't just come off as some generic designed blog. The proof is in the pudding: I got 300 views yesterday (with a little bit of marketing), but no additional subscribers. To be fair, I did somewhat hide the subscription link cause I wanted to make sure they connected with me before I pushed the subscription. I think I'm making it too hard to find.

I hear what you are saying with my writing style. It has been a while, so I'm a little rusty.

I do get a 100% open and click rate with my emails. I think part of this is I email updates only once to twice a week and I put in cool pictures. I feel like I should include pictures on the site as well, problem is finding royalty free ones and my fear I'll spend hours looking for the right picture vs. my email I'm content with just a cool looking one.

Thanks for telling me you like the name. I almost changed it a week ago, but decided to keep it.
