Just out of curiosity, find it amusing that women throw these test out there.
You are chilling and then she asks "Would we still be dating if I was x" or in LTRs would you still love me.

On first look it seems like a comfort test, but to me it could mean either

A) How invested are you in this relationship? (comfort test)

B) Can I turn into something you don't like and will you still accept me for it (slob etc.) (shit test)

I just made fun of it, with it basically always ending in me "destroying" the thing "she has become"

-> (...if I became food and you are the only one on earth left? Me: Eat it instantly and forget about it)

-> (...if I became a giant fly and you saw me in front of your window? Me: Hit it with my shoe or sell it off to researchers and get rich)

Always amused, having lots of fun with the premise and teasing her about it.

So what are these exactly?

the right date makes getting her back home a piece of cake

As stated, out of simple curiosity. Would be nice to know though whether they primarily are comfort or shit tests. Depending on the context they can be both but it is a thing that has intrigued me, how these are formed and why they are apparently so prevalent.
