When is it ok to Swear like a sailor?

is it a good way to establish dominance if one curses a person in a calm manner in response to some sly remarks?

or is it generally better to avoid it to not look reactive?

(Not talking about professional situations, where swearing is to be avoided at all costs)

Honestly, I swear a lot naturally so it just comes out. But if someone is giving you sly remarks then don't worry about it too much

If you're in a group and it's slight, then let it go in the moment. Then like 5 minutes later bring up a topic about how when people make sly remarks about others passive aggressively it makes them look like cowards (obviously you have to give this better context though)

But if someone gives you sly remarks and you, even if you're calm, start swearing at them then it'll make you look weak and butthurt. If it happens a few times you can also call it out in the moment in a nonchalant way "I noticed you do this sometimes and I'm curious about why you do this passive aggressive thing?"

If it comes to you naturally, do it. If not, don’t be silly. There are way better ways to make a point effectively than being inauthentic and potentially weak.

But , I prefer to not swear in certain situations
