I'm not a beginner and doing game for a while now. I noticed when I try to stop a tourist, girls will mostly stop and start engaging. However in cities with not so much tourists and where I try to game locals, I noticed this strange pattern, that women keep walking straight and ignore me when I try to stop them.

Today I did 8 approaches, and ALL women ignored me and kept walking. Some made a hand gesture to 'fuck off'. I really don't understand it, because I didn't even had the chance to deliver my opener.

Do what I did back in college, just walk along with them. Ask where they are going and say you are going somewhere a little further along or tell them you walk so far every day and only total distance concerns you.

Hard to say without seeing you approach. Vibe and confidence matters too. Perhaps you’re not stopping strong enough? Perhaps you’re not feeling confident and that’s portrayed by a weak approach? Also, what kind of approach are you doing exactly, etc. All this matters

Say your opener as you approach/stop them. Some will stop. Make your follow-up after the opener tighter and more will stop too

For those that dont stop... gauge her response... if it's a bit positive... follow her for a bit and continue the convo over the shoulder

Like OldGuy said, you may want to consider walking alongside them slightly ahead and opening over your shoulder.

Other than that, you may want to work on your openness. Smile warmly, have open body language, and have energy in your voice. Also, make sure there aren't any soliciters nearby. I have gotten my worst rejections at the start when I approach girls near charity workers asking for donations, promoters, and recruiters.
