When should I ask her out for a second date?

I met my coworker from a paid internship I'm doing this Friday for happy hour who I felt always liked me, and flirted a few times with me a week before I'm leaving my paid internship (recently finished my master's). It was never clear that it was a date, but our meetup sure felt like it in conversation and her body language (hair touching, etc). However, she had to leave right at 7pm to meet "friends for dinner", which botched my plan to invite her to my apartment a few blocks from where we met. A few minutes before she left, she asked what other coworkers I was going to see before I left.

Should I shoot her a text tomorrow late morning asking if she wants to me up for dinner this weekend at my place, or wait a few days? I'm pretty sure happy today Friday ran like a date. She said she doesn't have any plans this weekend. I have to see her one more day at work, just this coming Tuesday.

the right date makes getting her back home a piece of cake

Raysidney,

You didn't give us a lot to go on. If she told you she didn't have plans for the weekend she probably wants you to ask her out. This is depended on the circumstances when she told you. If you are leaving soon you have nothing to gain by waiting. Keep the text short, Like "Lets meet for coffee." Let her respond. Then go from there.

What Radeng said. I usually wait 2-3 days depending on how the first date went.
