I'll keep the background short. Met a girl in my college class. We have a lot in common, including the fact we're both currently slammed with schoolwork. We were able to hang two days ago to do a run and some homework, but unfortunately most of our schoolcwork is in groups with other people. I asked her to hang for a intramural event I have this Saturday, but she informed me that she was really busy and apologized for it. I've gotten the friend zone response before, but this felt different and more genuine. I'll see her Sunday for our group project in the class we met in.

I'm wondering how to keep things fresh without appearing needy or annoying. I get it, we have priorities and it's midterm season. I have her number and have been occasionally texting her asking how shes doing or sending memes to keep the mood lighting. Any other tips?

Thanks!

Hey I married my lab partner so I know of what you speak. For me the key was to build comfort in the studies, and wait for a social situation (it was Halloween) to escalate.

If Friday is your exam day, then propose a celebratory coffee, lunch, drink to get you two alone and connecting outside of a Classroom setting. Use that to set up an evening activity for Fri or Sat. night. Follow package directions....
