Anything Levi makes is pretty great as long as you get the sizing right. Experiment one up and one down in sizing. If you really want to get a nice jean look, get a size that fits you or is a little loose in a raw. Wear them everyday for like six months and then wash em. They should come out great after that.

I too enjoy a good pair of raw denim jeans. I've recommended it before, I'll recommend it again: Gustin jeans.
The shame is that they only sell online. They have plenty of guides for determining your fit, and I followed those completely and got mine to fit perfectly the first time I bought from them (have since done so a couple more times).
I mainly use them because I like looking different, but I've always been a fan of looking different through textures, rather than designs or styles. They release loads of different fabrics, so it's like heaven for me. Cheaper, more normal fabrics run for $74.
If you don't want to go that route, I suggest just going to the nearest mall you can go to and go in every store and try on tons of pairs of jeans, then buy your favorites. I'm not a fan of doing that, mainly because it takes a lot of time to get that done, but if you want it done right that's the way.
