Have you ever been in a situation where you were buying your date a drink and she insisted on paying? (I know most of you don't even buy drinks for girls lol)
Here's what happened with me: I was on my first date with a girl. After getting to the place (really cozy bar with blues music) we went to the bar to get a drink. So I went to the bartender and asked him for 2 beers and took out my wallet to pay. She was like "no I'm gonna pay for my drink" but she didn't have the exact amount to pay. I told her that I'm gonna buy her the first drink, and if she's good I might buy her another (that was my frame from the beginning, I was going to tell her that after I got the beers), and she was still insisting while I was paying the guy and giving her the bottle, and she was telling me how I'm not gonna get away with it and stuff like that (playfully of course but she meant it), so I just started to tease her and then dismissed the idea ("yeah yeah we'll see about that
") as we were going to our table. Then after we finished the first round I sent her to the bar to buy us a second round (thinking I scored in this and in the compliance department) and the rest of the evening went very well.
So what do you think happened here? I've never even heard of anything like that before, and I'm not sure if I handled it properly. I kept my frame by not giving in to her at first but afterwards I kind of gave it to her but I got compliance as well. How would you handle such situation?
