Chase,

My folks got me a subscription to Nintendo Power magazine, which would get me so hyped up for upcoming games. NP sent out a VHS tape on the making of Donkey Kong that I must've watched a dozen times in anticipation of the game coming out. I was basically a Nintendo Superfan in my youth (Gameboy, NES, SNES, N64... that + a few PC games and Atari before the NES were my gaming upbringing!).

Glad I wasn't the only Nintendo fanboy growing up! I also had a subscription to Nintendo Power for what must have been at least 4 or 5 years, haha. And my first systems, in chronological order, were Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Game Boy (Color/Advance), Nintendo 64, GameCube. I broke the trend after that going with PlayStation 2, but I was ALL about Nintendo for YEARS.

Unfortunately, they seem to be on the lower end of the console scale at the moment, although my buddy just revealed to me that they are releasing some great stuff for the newer "Wii U" console that looks great. It's about time too -- PlayStation and Xbox have been dominating that market for awhile now.

While I was a Nintendo gamer for years, I am now, at the core, a PC gamer. =)

My own was Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Play Station, Play Station 2 & then I only play PC games... Super Nintendo was the one that gave me the most joy, happiness and excitement! I still wished my mum had bought colored game boy for me back then!

Many great games have been mentioned, and some I did not get the chance to experience when I was younger.

I'm surprised no one mentioned GoldenEye. Oh man, and Pokemon Stadium!

Damn I'm getting nostalgic....

Golden Eye 007 was on Nintendo64 (N64), I don't think it was released on SNES.

Robotrek is my all-time favorite game :)

If I ever become famous one day and you see someone say that in an interview, then you'll know who I am. ;)

It's crazy how games were so important to me when younger. I played a lot (and a lot with my older brother). Now, I haven't played a video game in years, except for Chess online every now and then. After college, I just started enjoying more real-life things.... or, maybe it's because new video games suck? I don't know.

yeeea.. mannn (saying it in Usher's voice)! We have another SNES fan in the house! For me, newer games on Playstation 3 and the rest are like PHD mathematics - they take too much brain energy and power from me... so I hardly play them!

My parents never got me a any sort of playstation/xbox/Gameboy growing up...

I instead played Army in the woods next to my house growing up... ah well at least I used my imagination.
