I found myself extremely busy with, well, school, the past few weeks and all I had little time for was go through my emails, text messages and notifications on Facebook and honestly, the thought of not being out there in the field, felt rather ubnormal. So I started going through suggested friends on Facebook and I'd randomly choose one whom I thought seemed experienced. I have 60 friends on Facebook. My profile is not all that much interesting, I have several profile pictures of myself, couple of which I look fairly well on. So basically I'd add the person, and when she accepts my invitation I'd kick start by inboxing her something like:
"Hi *name*. I saw you walk down the road the other day, but unfortunately I was in a hurry so I couldn't stop and say hi. I know that this may seem a bit strange and creepy, but I came across your picture through "suggested friends" here on Facebook and Although I was hoping for a more formal introduction... my name is Allan."
And although this was not necessarily true, They'd usually fall for it. Now, this is where Chase's 'How to text a girl' comes in and if you do it right I don't think there's any reason for her to flake on you. =)
