Why would a married woman give me her phone number?

On tuesday I approached a girl on the street (using the walking approach technique) and I got her number. I send her a follow up message to break the ice. Nothing next day. Today I sent her a text to meet up:

Me: "Hey Vero, hope everything is going great I'm so tired walking with this heat! How's your schedule looking the next days?"
Her (14 min later): "Free schedule"
Me: (9 min later): "Perfect! How about meeting tomorrow at 8pm? Let's meet at the ticket office at the Station X and we'll go to a cafe"
Her: (7 min later): hahahaha. I'm going to the country. And I'm married
Me: (11 min later): Oh! No clue. I don't mind, but he must be jealous!
Her: (1 min later): hahahaha no
Me: (3 min later): Then, other day we should meet

There was no response (so far). The thing I'm wondering is, why would a married woman (no point making that up to avoid to meet) give me her phone number. Even if she was a very social outgoing gal, i think is weird, is completely obvious that if I talk to her, ask for her number… well, I must be interested.

I have had this kind of situations before. When she texted this things, it's either because her husband/boyfriend is in the house, or around her that she text this kind of things where she randomly text about her guy. Sometimes girls will be negative, but it's actually not to you.

Also, Sometimes some girls really wants to be platonic friends. You should try text her again sometime next week. just to test if she will go out, and go from there.

I think I will. But neext week is bad because my brother and a friend are coming and they will stay in my place until April 11th. Just in case I want to have my apartment just for me.


Zac, do you think that if a married/engaged girl gives you her phone is because something can happen? (I don't talk about girls in relationships because I thinks it's an obvious yes). I guess is a yes, not all the time, but you must think it could be.

Not really a gd idea if she comes around when your bro and friend is there. See what you can do to speed things up. Text her again then and try to ask her if her schedule is before your bros come, iF u want to gamble, text her earlier. But i recommend you can also try texting her to come after 11th. It's less of a rush, but a slight more chance she might go out. Either way, this is all her.

I don't know much about this really. But you might be right, and from what i experience, she thinks something can happen, and then her husband/boyfriend fucks her that night, and you are somewhat forgotten.

A girl who's married or in a relationship will not have the same excuses when she doesn't text back as one who is not currently in one. Yea...
