Will having an unattractive ex turn girls off?

I've heard women tend to like guys with attractive exes. So I'm wondering how women would react to finding out I have an ex that, well... isn't very attractive.

My ex does have nice curves, but I'd give her face a 3/10. She usually wears baggy clothes that hide her curves anyway, so her good features tend to be hidden while her bad ones are on display. In fact the main reason we dated is because she asked me out and since we were good friends, I decided to give her a chance.

We broke up years ago, but we do still talk. So what I'm wondering is, would the attractive women I like find me less appealing if they found out I have an ex less attractive than them?

I've really got to start by asking why you're introducing new girls to your ex??

All that aside, I've got a wide range of exes. And to some people's standards, some are less attractive than others. On the most part, no one really knows who I've dated or slept with cause these days, I always go outside my social circles and I don't really tend to talk about any past girls / relationships. This is why it's important to approach random women. They'll never know anything about your past other than what you tell them. I never really paid much mind to your concern, but I suppose some girls may bring it up. If it comes up, I'd just answer something along the lines of "We had a good relationship and I think she's great person, but we just didn't work out." I would never directly address the issue of attractiveness cause obviously you're attracted to more than just looks, or you wouldn't have dated her, right?

It really doesn't matter a damn. How or why would your new girl ever even know anything about your ex? I never understood this...

But these phrases... "I've heard women tend to like guys with attractive exes"
It's like, I've heard women like tall guys, but I've also heard they like short guys, one girl says she loves Asian men, she herself was Asian, one said she was more attracted to blonde haired Scandinavians, she was American, some women like cheese, some do not, some watch Glee, some think it's bullshit.

Point is... EVERYONE has their own tastes, preferences, opinions.

After reading your posts, I'm thinking that it isn't going to be a big deal unless I make it one. I probably do need to learn to approach women I don't know that well though, for a lot more reasons than them not knowing much about me.
