Hey guys,

I wrote a fiction book and I'd like to check if any of you guys ever published and marketed a book.
I'd love to hear from you guys ;)

I've self-published several on Amazon. I tried to get them published traditionally, dealt with a few agents who were interested but that's about it. I'd say go to the kindle forums and check out the writers cafe. Lots of people in there. They're mostly self-publishing their books.

Congrats on finishing your novel!

Thanks for the reply Tony!

And thanks, finishing it (and editing it) was the hardest part of it all. Felt like giving up so many times.

How would you advise to market it?
I don't wanna have zero sales there.

It's really, really tough to market fiction as an indie. Especially if you don't have a platform. For my memoir I have the pickup scene behind it. Non fiction sells way better than fiction overall, unfortunately, as I think there's a lot to be learned from great fiction. I'd say go to the Kboards writer's cafe and talk to people there.

As far as I know most indies are doing free give aways, 99 cents books, and writing series. Series are the way to hook the reader and sell more books.

For getting an agent there is software I used called Query Tracker.
