this is a tip that applies to tinder and any other picture based dating app....
i will start off by saying this: there are millions of straight up boring profiles out there from both men and women
a lot of the boringness comes from low value pictures. part of what makes them low value is that they were taken only with consideration for what the person was doing at that very moment...and not what they were doing right BEFORE the picture was taken, and right AFTER the picture was taken...
if your picture doesnt have a cool story for what happened immediately before and after the picture, its probably pretty cheesy. you can set yourself up for a higher value dating profile by taking this into consideration when taking and choosing pictures.
For example, let's compare the pictures of Guy A and Guy B.
Guy A has a picture of him alone in his swimming shorts in the backyard.. he's looking at the camera...ok...maybe he likes to sunbathe.... but what happened before and after?
Before: he was so bored alone at home. he put on his swimshorts, ran out to the backyard, set up his tripod, and started thinking about a pose to do. then he set the camera timer to go off every 10 seconds, and situated himself up 10 feet away from the camera.
After: Immediately after he took his 34th selfie. he thought, "i think i got enough pictures." he then ran over to the tripod and camera and scrolled through the images, trying to find one in which his nose didnt look too big.
On the other hand, guy B has a picture of him wrestling a crocodile while other crocodiles watch in the background. He's not looking at the camera..in fact, he has a look of intensity on his face... this dude is tryinga wrangle the living heck out of this creature or something. what happened before and after?
Before: Guy B lives in australia and leads wildlife tours of the australian desert. He loves to show the tourists the crocodiles. Except one day, one of the tourists children gets a little too close to one of the crocodiles. The crocodile lunged after the child. Luckily, Guy B got in the way and started wrangling the crocodile to give it a lesson. The tourists already had their cameras out and they shockingly took a picture of all of this.
After: Guy B successfully wrangles the creature and then cheerfully consoles the mother of the child that everything is ok. The tour continues on. then he bangs the mother later.
Anybody seeing guy A's picture will yawn. Anybody seeing guy B's picture will be engaged by it.
These are exaggerated examples to prove my point. But I hope this helps you pick out the weak points in your profile.
