Seems to be my good fortune that the only women I ever attract are the avoidant types. I became aware of this pattern of behaviour a while ago, but I didn't realise it was a running theme in my history until today. I have been improving at least by learning to establish boundaries and respect my own time. Just today in fact a girl I've been flirting with for a couple weeks has declared she's pulling back because things have gotten too intense for her. That's not what she said verbatim, but I can read between the lines.

She was a bit flakey with plans but she expressed genuine interest/excitement, had legitimate reasons to cancel and she did initiate on more than one occasion. We even met up a couple times and the vibe was very strong both in person and over text. I'm going to let it simmer going for now and try to line up some better options. Can anyone offer any advice on recognising this pattern of behaviour sooner?
