So I had only done a few cold approaches so far, and had not gotten rejected yet (mostly because I didn't make any moves). I had approached a girl and gotten her number within five minutes of meeting her, but that is the most success I have had with cold approach day game. So anyway, I was at school and saw a girl sitting talking to some fat guy with an empty chair in between them. She seemed bored, and we made eye contact and i smiled at her, and she smiled back. I kept walking, and and then thought to myself, "how awesome would it be if i just walked up and sat between them and started talking to her". I turned around, walked back, sat down in the empty chair and started a conversation with her. After a minute or so she looked over at her friend and said, "Hey I need to go to the bathroom, could you watch my stuff?" and walked off. I looked at the guy and said, "well, you can't win em all" and walked away. I had expected a rejection, but in hindsight I probably could have gotten her if I had handled the situation right. She seemed somewhat interested in me until i started conversing with her. If I had gone up and just said, "hey, come with me" or if I had moved her as soon as I had introduced myself, would it have been more likely to work? I have pretty solid conversational skills, so I like to rely on that heavily, but I realized that I can't really do that in a situation like that. Is there anyway to get a girl in similar situations or is interrupting without acknowledging their friend impossible to do without seeming like an ass?
