So this is probably a bit advanced to where I am right now, but there's been a few occasions I probably could've done more when talking to girls working at bars or coffee shops.
A couple months ago I went to a café where there was a pretty cute waitress, who seemed warm and with a pretty nice smile.
I drank a café au lait and then asked for the check. When she brought me my change she asked me:
"Hablas espanol" (do you speak Spanish)
[Me, kind of surprised] "Si, de donde eres?" (where are you from?)
"X city, y tu?" ()
"Y city. Y como te llamas?" (and what's your name?)
"Lucia"
"… you work here every day" [oh so cringy]
"mmm no"
Around January I was at the beach with a friend of mine and we would go to bars nearby with a lot of cute bargirls. My friend is a natural (and also works at a bar), so he could game them, relate with them about the bar business, deep dive a little and then get their numbers for later. I'd try to listen, and contribute to the conversations here and there, but I wouldn't know how to help him, nor how to charm them myself
At a different city I opened a bargirl saying her perfume smelled super nice (very true), and then she told me she bought it from a gypsy. I didn't know what to say then so I let the same friend chat her up and get her number lol.
I remembered about all this after last week when I was in a new bar, while exploring my current city. I was sitting in front of the beer taps and the pretty bar girl had to face me directly. She smiled and asked "How are you tonight?"
"Pretty good, thank you"
"Good"
(I know right, smoothest dawg ever haha)
So.. seriously, besides learning how to make a conversation and cold approaching like crazy, what else would you advise to charm or at least try to befriend a girl at bar/coffee shop or similar.
I know girls at these places usually flirt and befriend customers abundantly to get better tips, but are there times when they are really interested in a costumer? Does it matter? Is it worth trying?
I imagine they also get hit on like crazy, particularly at bars, so maybe you must distinguish yourself in some way? Perhaps only frequenting the place? What do you usually talk about with the bartender or bargirl or even barista at your favorite place?
