Hey there Fellas,
(So this is actually an extension of a previous post, but by focusing on this aspect I feel it can be beneficial to many in a similar but different situation...)
*The question is how to ask someone out getting "fast" number.
"Fast" - Meaning there wasn't much time to ask for a date, and then get a number. It was to get the number before never seeing each-other again with the hint of meeting up...
In this scenario I met the girl on a media project doing short day/player work. She's the VFX Producer. I'm a Location Scout who also does Art Photography on the side. We connected over my push-pull opener - "Hey I saw you with all those digital cameras, and I do Film Art Photography, and I thought, ya know, we probably wouldn't get along..." And she bit by saying "Ohhh yeah. Let me see your work." She was impressed with my work.
Then later in passing I engaged her about being a mutual creative as a VFX Producer, and she replied "Well actually I'm not all that creative, other than knowing how to draw fancy stick figures..." She explained how her job is more about budgets, scheduling, hiring, etcetera... I came back with "Well, I bet you are creative at something. Drawings, collages, etc... (After all she has some pretty dynamic & artistic tattoos) She said: "Ok, I like that, I've got some homework to do... (And I think she did runway modeling before getting a "real job" in VFX although I never confirmed this. It comes up later...)
Yada, yada, the next day (yesterday) the whole crew was slammed. Lots of people. It was really hard to isolate her, and get away myself as to not talk to her in front of an audience. I think I did pretty good social proof. She and I passed each-other a couple times and it seemed as if she wasn't interested anymore.
I will admit that I was super nervous cuz I felt a connection given her open body language, and I didn't want to miss this opportunity.
There were plenty of very attractive females on this project but for some reason there is an animal attraction to this girl, pheromones' - who knows, which is why I felt strongly to pursue her...
Finally, there was a quick moment she was alone, and I had to strike. She lit up when I engaged her. I said we wouldn't cross paths again because I'm going onto another project, but that I found her to be interesting, and what she did interesting, and asked how we could connect. She said "Hey, text me right now, and responded back to the text - making sure I got the number.
In a rush I tried to ask what her schedule was to meet up, Before getting picked off she said - "Well I'm pretty busy to do a shoot, but just text me..."
*This might relate to the runway modeling suspicion
And, I wasn't implying hiring her, for those who might take it that way. And I hope she didn't take it that way.
Anyway, now I have to figure out how Schedule a Meet-Up, and "get her out" it FAST as all the articles say.
Here's what we have so far from yesterday:
Me: Hey Allie, it's Adam C
Her: Hi
NOW, where do I go from here??
What I typically would do like this afternoon is this:
ME: Allie
Cool meeting you on Mercy
Me: Since we're both pretty busy
What would your schedule look like this week or next to meet up?
NOW...
Apparently this is a Hard Close, and a bit too much for most girls.
Would it work for a priofessional like her, I don't know. She is busy as a Producer, Hiring, Scheduling, Budgets sooo, she might like getting to the point.
However if it's supposed to be personal. Her personal interaction might be more "Soft Close" like:
ME: Allie
Cool meeting you on Mercy
ME: I'm curious. Are you a coffee and conversation type?
Or a drinks and happy hour kinda girl?
And then see what she says.
At this point, this is as far as I can imagine going in on the conversation.
How would I go from here??
Also what is the timing like for this kinda thing?
Especially If I'm supposed to Move Fast??
Text her this afternoon On a Friday?
If I wait until Saturday, she could already get picked up by Billy at the Bar Friday night! - This has happened to me.
However, If I'm too assertive like this Knock Out from Silver Lake back in October - Who I called the next day and left a message to schedule something because I was trying to get a "meet-up" before I might have had to leave town for two weeks cuz of an illness in the family that got dropped on me like literraly after the Day Game pickup...
I guess that assertiveness spooked her, because she politely text back, cool meeting you, but I'm not interested in meeting up. Thanks thou...
So I'm really interested in how you'd set up the meet-up in this scenario.
Perhaps a quality Mock Example.
And what the healthy timing might be.
To move fast, yet not come off hungry, needy, or desperate!
