It happened to me several times to call a girl whom hadn't saved my number.
I even opened a topic about it but never saw anyone answer this issue in a convincing way -and sorry, no, I don't have any great answer to this yet-, but went for an interesting new tack this time as I feel chances are rather low anyway:
We actually had an instant date so it was double bad she hadn't saved the number and it took her way too long in my opinion to understand whom I was (party girl taking drugs, ok, but still), so as soon as she didn't seem forthcoming on setting another date for the first time I didn't try to "play it cool" and pretend it didn't matter but actually went like
"but wait a second, and you didn't remember whom I was?
"no yeah, but now I do.. "
"this is not good a sign, I will not text you or call you ever again she mumbles something here as she didn't see the 180 degree turn coming and probably feels I'm just starting to lash out on her but I don't give her the chance to stop me and keep going "if you're up for a drink, you let me know. I wish you a good day ahead and have a great weekend, bye".
I would say calling the issue out is a much better way to go than pretending all is right.
If you wanna close the door on her or if you wanna try pull her back after you call it on the carpet is your call. I would say that unless you realize the girl "just" didn't save your number but is actually glad to speak to you or at least takes part in the convo then go ahead and make it clear it's not cool and you're done with her. And leave it at her.
The only issue with this is that chances she'll do anything are super slim.
