Poor people have poor ways. Self limiting beliefs, a predisposition to make do with repaired rather than new replacement. But it costs nothing to be clean, well groomed, polite, show leadership and chivalry. In most rural settings "Acting rich" is a demerit. But being able to create something worthwhile and valuable with just raw materials is a hallmark of being resourceful not poor. Example is restoring a vehicle rather than buying a new one. Fixing the dents well rather than letting them be...not having "flash on trash". Making long term investments in something rather than short term fixes, etc..

I'm coming at your question from "how to punch above your financial weight" but if you are wanting to sandbag and act poor, you gotta do it in a genuine manner.

well i'm quite greedy. so i tend to do that but not because i'm poor

You can pretend to be poor but..... women do notice your change of mannerism, vibe and confidence.

They still don't know though. though they are very good at making you think that they know. It happens vice versa when you are really poor, too. where women will make you feel that you are rich.

This is partly delusional, emotional support and boyfriend dilemma.
