This girl I often see in the library was sitting with a bunch of her sorority friends one day at the table in front of mine, and her friends seemed to be fussing over me a bit and one of her friends in the group clearly liked me. Her friend looked decent; I didn't do anything because I wasn't interested. But I saw the really hot girl today that I am actually interested in, and I smiled at her and she smiled back flirtatiously and lifted her hand up in a small waving motion.

The only reason I'm asking this question is that I feel uncomfortable about approaching her the next time I see her. I mean, I think I'm good looking, but this is literally one of the best-looking girls I have seen at this university. What are the chances that she's interested?

You might want to be direct if you bump into her because she might cool off later.

With experience in life (in all regards), you'll never truly know until you take action.

You'll never 100% know if a girl is interested unless you ask her on a date (or try to kiss her or w/e). It's that simple. We can discuss this and create propositions and theories until we're blue in the face, but no amount of discussion will ever answer this question because it's not a question that can be answered through discussion. It's a question that can only be answered through action.

1 girl gave me a bunch of "signs" (eye contact, touching hair) and chatted with me like crazy. I asked her out, and she said no.

1 girl was completely shy with me. I didn't even feel like she wanted to talk with me. I asked her out, and she said yes.

The land of conjecture is a terrible one to waste time in. You have to do and then see. Learn this when you're young, and the happier you'll be in all aspects of your life (not just women).
