Chasing after her... literally? :-)

Something I saw driving home from work yesterday evening got me thinking.

I stopped at a crosswalk in a leafy, residential neighborhood to allow a runner to cross without breaking her stride. She was one of the loveliest girls I've seen for months, with a tall, willowy body and long, flowing blond hair.

I had the idea too late, but what if I had:

- Parked the car;
- Slipped off my office loafers;
- Chased after her in my stockinged feet?

Catching up would not have been an issue, I am very fit. I could have opened direct, asked for a date, memorized her number and gotten the hell out of there. I don't mind making a fool of myself for a date with a beautiful woman.

I'll try it at the next opportunity, and post my findings here, but it may be some time in coming before such a possibility presents itself again. In the meantime, any pointers? Specifically, too much obviously expended effort, or a flattering display of impulsiveness?

Hmmm too much effort IMO. She will think you're an AFC. You could pull it off, but I would advise saying something super casual instead of just going for the "oh you're so hot can I get your #." Running next to her on your bare feet in your business casual clothing and saying something like "hey, why aren't you dressed for running?" to make her laugh. Be obviously joking while still keeping a straight face. I think that would beat just another random AFC chasing after her drooling over her to get her number. After that, I'd say something like "you're by far the most interesting girl I've seen running today, even though I've only seen two *sheepish, clearly mocking, confident grin on your face* and I just had to come over and say hi." "hey, I'm totally awesome, but not in awesome shape after a tough day of work. Take a 60 second stop? I will make it worth your while."

Good luck.

Yeah. Good sound advice again. I'll review my planning to work a little apparent effortlessness into the game-plan. I like your imaginative take on the situation. :)
