Was on youtube watching hodge twins (funny dudes) and saw a youtube comment about women that I get tired of.

"dont ever get married. dont go out of your way to meet women. FOCUS ON YOURSELF, get good grades, get good at sports, focus on your body, eat healthy, and the women will come to you. hitting on women constantly will only attract the worst kind of women. DONT EVER, EVER, SPEND MONEY ON BITCHES, ESPECIALLY IN COLLEGE WHEN U BROKE"

here a link to the video. dudes got 235+ upvotes, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpDswmOeoos

Ive hear this advice everywhere, but does this really work lol? Im still focusing on myself(college,Lift weights, eat healthy)
but i go out and meet women too. I still think you got to approach instead of waiting on them haha.

ocantu,

Let's try switching up the question just a bit to give you some perspective. Let's replace "picking up women" with "joining the NBA."

"dont ever play basketball. dont go out of your way to play basketball. FOCUS ON YOURSELF, get good grades, get good at women, focus on your body, eat healthy, and the NBA will come to you. playing basketball constantly will only attract the worst teams ever. DONT EVER, EVER, SPEND MONEY ON BASKETBALL, ESPECIALLY IN COLLEGE WHEN U BROKE"

Now, if you were to read that, would you agree? =)

Picking up women is a skill, just like playing basketball or performing a job at a career. The more practice and effort you put behind it, the better you will become. If you put a ton of effort into getting good grades, and getting good at sports, you'll probably get good grades, and you'll probably be good at sports. But that's because you put time and effort into learning those skills and those skills alone. If you want to get good with women, you need to put time into it as a skill.

I'd say 90% or more of men don't recognize that getting good with women is actually a "skill" and can be "learned," so when you see men posting things like that, keep in mind that they probably have no idea that getting good with women is something that can be practiced and improved because they aren't aware that there are websites like this that actually teach them to do it.

I know it's not really about cliche advices, but something that gets a bit on my nerves lately is all the hype surrounding catcalls and modern(and hypocritical) feminism. Yes, I've seen videos and I'll be the first one to say that yelling vulgar things to girls on the street and treating them purely like an object without minding their consent is creepy. But, I feel that this crusade against catcalling will negatively affect respectable guys who just want to better themselves. It just doesn't seem right to me that a good part of feminists think that boys and men don't suffer from sexual stereotypes in their own way. I was just wondering if you noticed it's impacts on your approaches lately.
