So there's a married woman at work who's been acting kind of "different" towards me for a while. She's 43, I'm 27. We work in a fitness/athletic center.
-Stares at me a lot. At uncomfortably long intervals from a distance. Just the other day I like moved up so she couldn't see me because she was just staring from afar, and when I moved out of sight she walked away. She initiates it though.
-Months ago I mentioned that I like (wearing) soft "vintage" shirts that fit tight. After that she always shows up with her work shirt not on and wanders around in a vintage t-shirt for five to ten minutes before finally donning her long sleeve work shirt. She didn't do this before, and we've both worked there for years. She basically walks around in a tight, soft shirt for the first few minutes of her shift.
-Gave me rare-from-females physical compliments on my physique. (Weight loss, chest and shoulder muscles)
- She has eyebrow flashed me a couple of times on things that sound like sexual talk but were totally innocent on my part, things that could be double entendres. Once I explained how I had chipped my front tooth, and told her I kept habitually running my tongue over it afterwards, and she gave me an eyebrow flash and smile as soon as that sentence left my mouth. Like she was thinking of something else.
-Seems to go out of her way to make herself visible to me or interact with me. Examples: She says some old guy is her "stalker," and insists on my walking her places to shield her from him as if he's gonna rape her in a public place in front of sixty people. She talks to some of the younger guys in my area that I work with, but rarely approaches me directly. It's like she walks into my area so I can see her, says something briefly to one of them, and then goes back to her area. A few weeks ago I was not working and went in to lift and play ball with my best friend, and she just sauntered up and made me pay attention to her, despite the fact him and I were talking. It was awkward, it caught me off guard and I didn't even properly introduce them because she seemed so awkward and forced about it. This is a big thing with her. On the job it's like she wanders in ostensibly to speak to someone else in my work area, but she really has nothing to say to the other person so just drops a quick line and moves away.
-Over the fall, I found she had the number of one of my younger underlings. He would go to her area to talk to her a lot. One day I thought maybe he was there because he was late, but he wasn't. She whipped out her phone and dialed him while staring into my eyes. She seemed to be showing off/trying to make me jealous. I couldn't figure out why they had each other's number, as they don't work in the same area. The kid was 21 at the time. Once he appeared to make a comment to a friend of his while smiling a little when he saw her and I talking. Then, despite being at the very least what appeared good friends, some months ago him and her totally stopped talking to each other. It was weird.
-She's comfortable with being alone with me. She's readily followed me into storage closets when I was fetching her something and the like more than once.
I think she gets the sense that I'm not into married chicks. I kind of backed way off engaging her directly in conversation, and she seems kind of hurt by it. Is she into me, or does she just want attention? What's the best way to proceed if I don't want any funny business with her, even though she is hot?
