So there's this girl I used to have a crush on. I can safely say that she liked me as well. I kinda acted like a moron and she seemed to slowly lose interest. To give you a little bit of context, I was kinda manipulative and I was trying to act cold and disinterested. I assumed that she friend-zoned me, even though I don't really have any evidence pointing into that direction, other than that her becoming fairly comfortable with me, even though we don't really know each other, we're more like acquaintances. She's the shy type. I also don't quite understand the friend zone, but that's another story. I'm also unsure whether a shy girl becoming comfortable with you too early is bad sign or not. Hope you guys can shed some light.
Anyway, as I said, I assumed that and moved on. We haven't seen each other in 3 months. Now we're seeing each other again at college. What I've noticed is that even though she doesn't quite give me the same IOI's (for example she doesn't stare at me as often or as much she used to) she's acting different and in a manner which I find weird. She seems quite energetic when she sees me, she seems I would say happy, as she's smiling a lot and today when she saw me she was giggling nervously with a friend of hers and teasing me a bit. There were a lot of people around and I was just casually talking to them but her reaction really stood out. She's also been using my name's diminutive a lot lately which is also odd, especially since, again, we haven't had any interaction in about 3 months and the rapport we had was broken. At some point we were talking towards each other, each minding their business and she randomly hi-fives me.
I've changed my mentality and I'm having a take it or leave it attitude towards any girl right now. I obviously don't have a crush on her anymore, although I still think she's hot and kinda cute so I wouldn't mind anything happening between us. Initially I was reading her really well and I managed to make some progress but then I started acting like an idiot as I said above and it went downhill from there. So right now she's really confusing to me and I'm genuinely curious what the hell is up with this girl. She's been awkward before and she seems really awkward right now, because she's shy obviously. So is it safe to assume that she still kinda likes me after all this time and so many fuck-ups on my part?
I'm genuinely more curious about this as a learning experience more than anything else because I've never quite seen anyone like her. So what do you guys think?
