Could use a hand on this one

Hey guys I just started a new job....and while roaming on Facebook a girl pooped up under people you may know. She is friends with 2 of my buds that also work at my job. I've seen her at my job a few times but never said anything to her. I sent her a friend request and she accepted it, I work at a casino and because I'm new I got the grave shift which is the night shift. She works middle of the day so I only see her for about 10 min. I figured talking thru Facebook messenger would be a good idea I just don't know how to start it off, don't want to sound like a creep. Any suggestions?

I think it would be better to approach her at work. She responded to your friend request so she's already intrigued, it would be best to capitalize on that intrigue in person. You could open with something like "hey I think you're a friend of a friend... Sara, right?... Danny. so you're clocking off soon?" ... she responds "yeah" you say "ohh cool so any plans for the evening? meeting your boyfriend I expect" ... "oh haha no I'm single, just gonna head home and sleep" ... "oh right yeah so you do all your troublemaking in the morning before work?" ... etc. Just a bit of banter about the shift times or whatever will serve the purpose of getting her familiar with you. If she shares, then, deep dive. You also want to be aiming for a date, but, in the workplace I wouldn't just burn it down on the first meeting. Wait until you have built something of a connection first. And, if you're going to do anything with her other than workplace banter, make it a priority to grab her number, because otherwise you'll be constantly cockblocked by the presence of colleagues and whatnot.
