Hey guys,
There's this girl I work with that has a really big crush on me. She texts me all the time and tries talking to me a lot when I'm at the office. She's kinda weird, but I guess objectively she's sorta cute, not my type though. Although I'm in college, I work in a professional office, so obviously inter-office relationships are frowned upon, and I could get in big trouble if anything happened. Even if they weren't frowned upon, I still wouldn't hook up with this girl. She's pretty naive, definitely pretty inexperienced, and she likes me a lot (probably wants me as her boyfriend, not just a hookup). She even knows that I don't feel the same way about her, but she told one of my female coworkers that she can't help herself. Pretty serious feelings.
She's a nice girl, so I'd rather not crush her. When she texts me, I respond about half the time, I take at least an hour or two to respond, and usually I don't even text a full sentence. I never text first and the exchanges are normally only two or three texts on my part before I stop responding. She doesn't seem to get the hint. In person I'm polite and I remain professional. I've told one of my female coworkers to drop hints that I don't like her and that I'm against workplace affairs/relationships, but she doesn't seem to understand or care. She also knows I fucked a girl in another office on a company trip, and found out which girl it was. My female coworker told me that she got pretty jealous and upset when she found out. But she still hasn't given up.
I'm not really sure what to do or how to approach this. If I do or say anything drastic, it could really hurt her, which would make me feel bad and could also cause problems in the office. But I also don't want to lead her along and make her think she has a chance with me. I don't know if I should outright tell her that I know she likes me and friendzone her, do nothing and just sorta deal with it, or something else.
Any suggestions on how to handle this?
Thanks,
Pato
