Hi guys!
Question for you all? How do you handle... or what do you think of... dancing?
Years ago when I start going out and could get into clubs I'd be all about going dancing. A few beers and hit the floor, pull out a few silly moves, whatever... just have fun, I didn't really care who was watching, I was entertaining myself.
However, over the years I kind of stopped unless I'm really in a situaton where I'm out having fun and don't care. These days if I bother to hit a club or somewhere with a dancefloor, I'm probably thinking about meeting women. Now, there's no doubt that in certain venues, it's easy to pick up off the dancefloor. But I've been in more situations recently with friends where they'll want to drag everyone onto the dancefloor and if you are the guy saying no it's easy for things to turn around that you're being the lame guy who doesn't want to dance.
Nothing wrong with dancing but to be honest, I've changed my style a lot, people have even commented. I tend not to be the crazy "hey look at me!" sort, but instead a little smoother. Act, walk, talk a little more slowly and controlled. I'd prefer to hang out at the bar or to the side and casually meet people. I find I meet much better quality people doing this than going for drunk hookups from the dancefloor.
If I meet a girl and she wants to dance then that's ok, it'll usually be a just us getting close so no crazy silly moves.
But dancing "on my own" or part of a group isn't really my style anymore but hard to get out of sometimes.
What do you guys think of dancing in general? Does it work for you? Do you like it?
Is there an easy way to just get yourself out of doing it without being the "boring" one?
