So up to now when setting up dates I've organised everything straight away, but I'm wondering if it's better to do it another way as doing everything way in advance might come across as too needy. When organizing the venue of the date should I set it up straight away, or is it ok to decide a few days later? I'm supposed to be meeting this girl next friday and we've decided on the time and day but not where we're going to meet. I'm thinking of telling her where we'll meet in a few days. Is that ok or is it better to do it straight away?

My experience tells me that the more concrete you are about the actual date, the more likely it will be to work out (work out as in the sense that she is more likely to accept it). If I leave the details vague, it almost never works out.

I don't believe this has anything to do with neediness. It's just good planning. Good leadership. Masculine trait.

Also, get back to your own experience, and ask yourself: when I set everything up in the past, did it work or not? Did she accept the date? Reading between the lines of your post, it seems to me that it worked for you in the past when you decided the details before hand. If that's the case, don't change what works. Perfect is the enemy of good.
