As a daygamer, I've recently been weighing the tradeoffs between number-closing and going for insta-dates. There seem to be pros and cons to each, and I'm curious to hear what you gents think about this.
To keep things simple, I'm just going to lay it out the way I see it:
Number-farming (interactions of 5-10 minutes with number close)
Pros
- Get lots of potential leads
- Maintain a sense of mystery by keeping interactions short
- More approaches, therefore higher odds of meeting a girl you have instant chemistry with
Cons
- Lots of flakes (dead numbers)
- Harder to establish a higher floor with her owing to the time constraint
- Repetitive and predictable - having the same conversations over and over again (could be a pro depending on how OCD you are about perfecting your approaches)
Insta-dates
Pros
- You get a date! With the real chance of a Same Day Lay
- Chance to establish rapport with her, and to run gambits or material to build comfort and set you apart from all the other men around her
- You can use nonverbals (voice tonality, touching, eye contact) to leave a more lasting impression on her
Cons
- Time-intensive - if you only have limited time to daygame, you will be sacrificing quantity for (possibly) quality in a single interaction
- Kills the mystery - she will know enough about you that she can no longer project her fantasies onto you (a key advantage of cold approach)
- Harder to pull than on a scheduled date - while not always true, I find that girls I meet during the day usually have plans later, so I end up having to schedule another date anyway to seal the deal
The reason I've been thinking about this is that I have recently number-closed a few girls I had a hunch could have been potential SDLs if I'd just pushed the interaction forward. Instead, I number-closed thinking it would be better to do a full seduction at a time when I was "mentally prepared" (a BS excuse I know), and in the end they never texted back. In terms of SMMA methodology it makes sense - they were immersed, but not yet socially compliant, emotionally stimulated, or sexually aroused (the three keys of attraction), therefore there was no reason for them to be interested beyond whatever fantasy they projected onto me, which may not have been enough.
I've always been in favor of number-closing due to the perceived advantage in quantity, but recently I've noticed that most of my quality leads are actually from girls I went on insta-dates with. It could be cultural (girls in some countries require more comfort and rapport than others), but I think there's an argument to be made that insta-dates are a better use of time, being that one quality lead is worth more than several dead numbers (which is not to hate on number-closing - I've done number-closing daygame for years with success, but you have to accept that it's a low-odds game). In any case, I plan to start focusing more on insta-dates from now on, partly to test myself and see just how far I can push the interaction.
What do you guys think about this? Do you lean more towards number-closing or insta-dates, or is it situational? And why?
