I've heard @Chase many times say that he will know various, personal things about a girl within ten minutes of an interaction (that she likely rarely talks about) via deep dives.

On the other hand, I've also heard him say that the initial interaction should be light.

These seem contradictory, can someone reconcile them?

@HyperActi7e,

  • "Where are you from?"
  • "Oh, why'd you move here?"
  • "You're off to where right now?"
  • "How'd you get into that?"
  • "You live around here?"
  • "Roommates or no?"
  • "Like to be by yourself, eh?" (if she lives alone)

This is all pretty light stuff but already you know the reason that prompted her move, how she got into whatever it is she's doing (e.g., some hobby or class or what have you), and a bit about her reasoning for why she prefers roommates or prefers to live alone.

You can find all that out really in 2-3 minutes of chit-chat.

You just don't go deeper than that in the initial approach, because then you get too deep -- instead you file it away and can trot it out on the first date, or in messages / phone calls as needed if she needs more similarity built up before the date.
