Did I misread this?

So I was at a party last night and I deep dived a girl and then broke rapport on a high and moved on. I fully intended to re-engage her later. However, before I could do so I caught her eye across the room and she mouthed out to me "I really fancy Fred, what the hell?" with a really confused look on her face. Fred was a guy I came to the party with.

This sort of threw me and I never did re-engage her as I had no idea if it would have been a waste of time and she was just going to use me to get to my mate. So I spent the rest of the night on another girl.

Was this right? Is that a big fat hint from her that my game wasn't good enough? Or should I have re-engaged anyway like nothing happened?

Btw she was really hot and highly sexual and my mate Fred isn't all that attractive bless him. I did end up telling him what she said and he did nothing *sigh*

Did I fuck this one up or was it a good call to leave it after that?

The way I see it is,

Even though she mouthed to you that she liked fred she was looking for you to engage her. You should have went on to talk to her for the sake of the learning experience.
