Distracting from the Conversation

My phone recently broke, so I started messaging this new girl on Facebook. After exchanging a few messages, she agreed to a cooking date.

Then she changed the conversation saying, "You don't have a problem that I used to date -----?" because I know her ex.

I told her that I wanted a date with her because I thought she was a cool person, and I don't judge people by exes.

She replied ok, but asked if her old friends "talk shit about her."

I said, "none that I've heard. Do you really care? I just asked to cook dinner with you. You can say no."

She said, "yeah we can"

I said, "great, I am glad. When would you be free this week?"

She replied later with, "do you play soccer?" (Kinda pisses me off)

I said, "In second grade. Why"

She said, "I am looking for someone to join my soccer team."

Knowing this is kinda ridiculous, I replied, "I'll answer your question if you answer mine."

Any insights on this conversation, or things that I could have improved? I'll update when I get a reply
