Do these girls want me to ask them ?

So I noticed something recently, when I have ordered my food, the girl giving me my food would kind of wait and look like she is waiting for me to try the food in front of her or she wants me to ask her out. But it's like they're waiting for something after I grab my food and leave, they don't just give me my food and go back to what they're doing right away.

I don't mind asking them out, but I always took their friendly customer service as doing their job so I didn't want to get a big head thinking they wanted me to ask them out.

What yall guys think it is?

Where are you seeing this? university dining hall or Fast food or fine dining?

Don't confuse familiarity with attraction. I watch our CS girls in their 20's at the counter and see some pretty crappy attempts to flirt with them. The majority are unwelcome advances.

A girl at the counter taking orders is pretty much trapped there, but a waitress who comes to your table while you are there alone making conversation unrelated to your meal is giving you IOI's. That is a green light.

A counter girl who is interested will let you know by saying when she gets off work, when her next break is, what she is doing for lunch....etc.

What an interested hired gun LOOKS LIKE:

In HS I had a waitress give me her number unasked during a lunch at a hotel cafe...

In a hardware store at 8:45 on a Friday night , I had a Dwarf tell me she was done at 9:00 and invite me to Drag Queen Bingo. Neither of those was on my bucket list but it was a learning experience....

Had a bagger at the Warehouse store lock eye contact and tell me her kids were at a friends house and she was off work in 15 minutes....Then my wife walked up...

a bartender got off shift, bought me a drink, bitched about her boyfriend, drank with me and asked me to walk her out to her car....

the spicy latina at the taco truck asked me where I'd been and said she missed me. (in hindsight the proper response is "give me your number and you might see more of me" in case this happens to you.)

the cocktail waitress comps you a cocktail right before last call on a dead night.

Food places. I didn't ask these girls out and I don't. I just noticed these girls would linger and wouldn't leave right away after they gave me my food. It's like they wanted me to say something I guess, but if you give someone their food they go back to what they're doing right after.

I never met these girls before.

This is recent.

So u mean to tell me that a girl will just tell me she wants to go on a date while serving me food? This doesn't seem common at all.

I'm not staying there I get my food and leave, I just find it kind of odd that they just give me that look like they're waiting for me to say something.

I'm just asking to make sure I'm not missing out.

So the only way a hired gun wants you is if she makes it 100% clear she wants to see you after work?

What conversation do you have with them? Do you ask them their name? Most waitresses will introduce themselves. You would be amazed at how attentive they will be (from a service perspective if you remember it and address them by name) .

A group of us were at a restaurant when our server seated us. She introduced herself as "Jackie" and I mouthed off and said "Downtown Jackie Brown!" enthusiastically when she came to take our order. She beamed....I kinda took the lead and said "Jackie, please bring us 5 coffees and a pot for the table every 5 minutes until one of us gets up to pee, then every 10..." She laughed and we had our coffee and the carafe 30 seconds later....As we were finishing up the meal, she came out with a free slice of cake "for the table" but put it right in front of me...There are 4 sets of eyebrows raised at me around the table. I don't think she was flirting with me but I made her day fun and interesting...

I can usually gauge a hired gun's sincerity with some small talk. If she deep dives herself....that's interest...

Nothing too deep. I don't try to game really, just ask how their days going, what they like from the menu.

Like I said this isn't something that has been happening and I noticed them just kind of look at me and pause after I told them thank you and was ready to leave.

Like of you say thank you to someone who gave you food and they just looked at you and didn't get back to what they're doing you'd think something.

I had to ask was all my food there because it was like they were waiting for something.

Your scenarios are a little different because that's a waitress and it's easier to kind of tell.

I'm talking about fast food.
