Hey, I probably did 30-40 approaches in the last 2-3 weeks and I'm starting to see a lot of progress already!!! However, I still have a lot of difficulty being witty with girls, especially when they're obviously interested and sexual. This is an example from class the other day (Really makes me wanna bang my head against a brick wall). It was during an activity in class, where everybody was given a sheet with a list of random characteristics (I like japanese culture for example) and we had to find someone in the class that corresponded to them and make them sign. One of them was "I wear blue boxers " and luckingly, I had blue boxers on. Anyway, I found a hot girl and told her to sign. Then, she asked me the questions, and I eventually said I wore blue boxers. It went like this:

-Yes (asked about the blue boxers)
-Ohhh :) You(said with a sexy emphasis) have blue boxers, uuuuh? :) :) (with hair play and evident interest)
-Yea... matches with a lot of things :) (sexy smile, good voice and fundamentals)

So yea, I'm glad to have the fundamentals and basic social skills, but wittiness is really a problem for me, no matter what I try. I've tried to speak more slowly, gain social momentum, etc. Even when present in the moment my responses tend to suck and tend to kill attraction or suddenly put an awkward vibe. I think that a lot of time it's because I'm still a bit inexperienced and don't really know what's the right message to convey and how I should convey it when a girl responds with sexual undertones like this. How would you have responded to her in this situation?

I.W.,

As with anything else, practice makes perfect. If you find yourself in a situation where you think you could have responded better, go home write it down and think up a better response and write it down as well. You'll find that it just gets easier as you put more effort into practicing it.

Here's a good little cheat when it comes to wit: Blanket statements. It's a few phrases that you have on hand that you can use as witty responses to just about anything. Here's an example: "Yup, I like to live dangerously"

-Yes (asked about the blue boxers)
-Ohhh :) You(said with a sexy emphasis) have blue boxers, uuuuh? :) :) (with hair play and evident interest)
-Yup, I like to live dangerously.;)

The trick is to make it an over-exaggeration of the current topic of discussion. One word of caution is to use these extremely sparingly. One or two times max in a conversation.

Wow thanks Doc :p!!

It's the first time I hear about those, I'll definitely jack yours and come up with others. I'll probably share 'em if they're good too :) If somebody else has tricks, feel free to share though!! Different perspectives can certainly stimulate growth!

Read the stickied FR's in the Field Reports board, I particularly like Zphix's (Richard's), the one where he is chatting up his hairdresser for instance, but any will do. These have a lot of sexualized conversation that you can use pretty much as-is. And yeah writing down your interactions helps a lot, maybe start a journal here? And keep approaching, just occasionally you'll stumble on a new line that you can use a lot. For me one of these is "I know what you get up to when ...", v. useful.

Watch the T.V show Californication for plenty of examples on being sexually witty. I was a bit of a natural with wit but still had to work on it many times before it sounded pleasant. I still space out when I can't come up with anything to say when talking to people.

Not many wittier authors are out there. T.V and movies are better examples as you can hear the lines being delivered live. The movie "Miller's Crossing" is filled with great wit delivered by the actor Gabriel Byrne, check it out.
