Hey guys,

I just started today in a job for a Home Improvement company that are looking to become #1 in the state(currently #2). I'm being trained by this guy who really knows his shit and tells me if I put in the work I can really make mad money. It's a new business and they're ambitious.

My job, is simply to get appointments. You get paid per lead and paid good bonus if the sales people close it. I really see myself enjoying this kind of job, and I want to truly thrive. I also want to go up the ladder and get better positions and ultimately become an actual salesman... for now.

Please, if you guys have some great info or advice to give me please do. Any book recommendations I'll give them a read.

Last thing, if there is any Girls Chase article that I can use to improve the chances and solidity of the appointments and overall become a better salesman I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

a good date brings a smile to your lips... and hers

If you're looking for overlap between work and pickup, there is none greater than door-to-door sales. The only thing that often gets in the way is sales tends to use a "script" which makes you sound robotic but is often unfortunately necessary either for legal reasons or just to make sure the customer is informed of all the essential details. It's great for practicing cold approach and it's fantastic for getting acclimated to rejection. If you really hit them streets, within a few days you'll have more doors shut in your face than you ever have in your life - and once you get your first close, none of them even matter.

I recommend brushing up on this and this. I also found this helpful when the rejection and difficulty start to get to you. At my job, they made us memorize all three of those (or very similar versions) by day 2.

Best of luck with that man. Unless it gets financially unfeasible or you decide to start your career after college, you should stick with it.

Hey Inbocca,

I did get a script. I have already noticed some of the faults or drawbacks of always following the script rather than being fluid. Good thing is, once my training is done, I work when I want, where I want, and how I want. Freedom. As long as I'm at least meeting the weekly quota my guy doesn't care.

If you're looking for overlap between work and pickup, there is none greater than door-to-door sales.

Funny you mention that. I've been a socially isolated loner for all my life and just from going out there today, I feel this confidence and edge rising inside of me which will only get stronger.

Thanks for the info. You're a cool dude!
