Well, after the high of the insta date this week, I needed a reality check and I sure as hell got it!
I already had a pre-booked ticket to London anyway, but it was perfect timing to get me down from my high and potential oneitus.
And boy did it deliver!
I couldn't get a single hook on Oxford and Regent's street, which I was patrolling for most of the day.
Hell, I couldn't even front stop properly.
I'm not going to give a break down of approaches but anything front stop related lead to an utter blowout. Sometimes no words just dodging around me. I got about 4 sets to stop and exchange formalities before rushing off.
Front stop problem
Part of the reason is that there simply wasn't enough space to wheel around like you are supposed to in the front stop. So it was more like cutting in from the side and getting right in front, which lead to a startled girl and blowing the set.
The girls are also rushing like crazy so if they dodge around you, you will have to run to catch back up and this may elicit a panic reaction from the girl if she did deliberately ignore you.
Side approach more successful
I found the side approach more successful in terms of girls receiving compliments. The front stop lead to immediate blowouts causing no chance to even say anything.
Did I spot a forum member?
There was a British black guy in a brown coat gaming a pair of Jehovah's witness people at a stand outside one of the underground stations. I saw dowhatworks is a black guy so it might have been him!
Approach count
If we are counting approaches including blowouts I must have done about 25, some of them being low effort, admittedly.
I was getting plenty of cringe reactions even in London. Oxford Street and Regent's street are so busy, you are bound to see someone pretty enough to approach, but it is a case of getting to them before they have disappeared into the crowd.
Quite a few times, I aborted, because I simply couldn't close the distance between myself and the approach target.
All in all, not a successful outing, but I am going to go in for some more coaching soon, as I think my fundamentals have slipped.
