Emergency: Would you escalate on a girl you've known whole life?

So I know this girl since I was a kid and I'm meeting her today. Now I've got some signs from her over the year. I never physically escalated, only some show of interest. Now since our families know each other and I've known her my whole life, I don't want a messy situation later. Given that I'll see her my whole life, should I kiss or makeout if I have no intention of getting involved emotionally? She seems strong on the surface but I don't know if she ends up being whiny and clingy if I escalate. Are the risks too high? Any way to ensure the girl stays cool later?

I don't think you have the skillset to pull off a casual relationship with a family friend.

And by that I mean you have to be a cold hearted ladykiller who can see someone at family and holiday functions, and know that you stuck your dick in her, and now some other guy is pumping in your playground. It is like the worst ex-oneitis you could ever imagine. It is that way because there is not the social acknowledgement that you were ever together and broke up. Yeah I dodged the bullet. Jacked off at home so that I don't have raging hormones, it worked. She was basically saying how she is a virgin and her friends made fun of her for that.
