Yo yo yo.

I had a question/discussion starter about how to make eye contact with a girl while walking. I'm struggling with that currently right now. Even if it's not a girl, even walking with a guy it's hard to get them to look at you when you're walking. So I've come up with a few things that I might try to get people to look at you while walking, and I was hoping you guys could hop in and give some suggestions as well.

Get Them To Stop
Why not just get them to stop walking with you? That way you'd have to be talking face to face and not looking in other directions. The only problem with this is if the girl is in a hurry/on her way to something and doesn't necessarily want to stop. In that case...

Touch for Attention
Something that people have used to get me to make eye contact with them in the past is to touch me, or to move their head slightly to the side (cock their head) and look into my eyes from an angle. You can feel their gaze on you and you feel a sort of pressure to look at them. I'll try this one out as it seems the most socially attuned and the last effort.

Command
I could try and command them to look at me. Something like, "Hey, look at me for a second?" Sort of like asking for compliance. I'll try this one out too because it seems like the least likely to work.

Let me know what you guys think and if you have any other eyedeas.

Jake.

Hey Jake,

Touch for attention seems to be the most effective of the three overall in my experience. However, not looking at her per say straight on but using your peripheral vision instead can be useful too. This way you can catch her stealing glances at you while she thinks you wont notice ;) The other thing is to maintain eye contact with her but use your peripheral vision for walking so that you dont run into anything/anyone. A lot of people tend to look at people when the look at them, especially while talking. Hope this helps!
