Forums feature request: initial forum posts to read

Recently, I joined this running forum, and upon registering, they showed me a page with Stickied posts of essential readings. I think this is a cool idea so that it reduces repetitive posts (won't eliminate it, but will help reduce it).

I'm also at fault for not reading Stickied posts, so I'm not pointing fingers at new or existing members.

I know that there's a Begginers=>Common Questions section, but it's really easy to miss.

Anyway, immediately after registering on the forums, members would be presented with an essential reading page:


Please scan through the following forum posts. They may help you with a question you have. If you feel like your situation is unique in some way, then definitely please feel free to create a new post about it or reply on one of the existing threads below.

As always, I post it here for discussion, as I'm not saying this is the 100% best idea in the whole wide world. I just like it and think that it will help lessen *some* repetitive posts that get asked/answered over and over.

Pinot,

Something similar to this has already been suggested, and it's something that may or may not happen. The fact of the matter is, it's actually a lot of work to go through and do that, and I'm not sure Chase has the time to do it himself. So the onus would be on me, but unfortunately, I'm short on time also. I'd rather spend that time responding to newer posts if I can.

If we get some time, something like this might come into fruition.

Thanks Franco. I apologize; I didn't know that it had already been suggested and that it is hard to implement. Luckily, it's not essential, and I'm glad that it's in the queue for the future
