Hey gents!
Had a situation today where I ran into a girl I see occasionally who works a to-go area in a restaurant, who is one of the hottest girls I've ever met. She has a daughter and was dating an NFL football player for a while, but she was unusually down today and almost refused eye contact. Eventually it came out that he cheated on her and I had sudden mixed emotions.
Definitely felt bad for her with that situation, but suddenly saw the prospect of us getting together, buuut had no idea how to go about dealing with a girl in this situation. I never really said "Sorry" but I said a man would have to be blind to cheat on her. I asked about her daughter(trying to get her to focus on positive things), her age, and she eventually went on about how beautiful her hair was.
She mentioned how she'd never wish harm on anyone, and with this, I squared myself in front of the table and said in a strong tone that she has a good heart, and she agreed and repeated what she said. Several other questions about her free time and other pursuits and that's when she hit me with the question: "Why are you asking me all this? Are you dating someone? Why..."(I couldn't hear the rest), and looking back, I think this was a make it or break it moment. How would you guys respond to this with a girl who was just cheated on or otherwise?
My reply was a very reflective, trying-to-figure-it-out-myself thing where I said I just really liked getting to know others and I'm very much a connector, I like to learn about people's lives. She asked me my birthday and I knew she was looking for my zodiac (should have played around with it, but...), so I told her I was Sagittarius, but that side of me was very uncharacteristic of Sagittarius. She said she didn't know about that one and listed the ones she knew. At this time, my food came out and I said bye, but her eye contact was still weak.
Fast forward a few hours and I came back and she's slammed with to-go people. I just lean against a wall and stare off at nothing, then went up for my turn. I asked her what month she was born and she told me February and she is an Aquarius (wonder if she can handle the heat of a centaur?
) I also told her my order number and when I said bye, I had strong eye contact, a deep voice, and the James Bond facial expression and she finally held eye contact, smiled a little and said she'll see me later.
Any tips for this particular situation would be awesome, and then how to deal with chicks who were just cheated on in general would definitely be useful!
