Forum Feedback General Board Is KJ, Posturing, and Unmoderated

I think there are two dimensions here:
1- Opening a thread in the wrong forum section
2- Quality of replies in the thread.

I don’t care about the first. I care about the second. I called a couple of people out on providing stupid replies or derail the thread .
I am true believer of all opinions are not equal. You wouldn’t go to successful lawyer to get eye surgery, would you?

I'm not super active but even I've noticed a little bit more aggression here and there. I just assumed it was everyone's passions coming to the surface

As for the waiter thread, it seemed like people were coming at the topic with their own version of the situation and that resulted in a lot of people talking over others about, more or less, completely different situations! It's easy to get frustrated when you think you're being talked over. But towards the end it seemed like everyone kinda chilled out on their own when they started to understand that everyone was interpreting the question/situation differently. At least, that's my take

As for the general boards stuff; my 2cents is I haven't noticed. I only click on the new post button, look through anything that seems interesting to me or that I want to look at. Then click mark all forums read after that lol. So whatever happens, please keep that button. I love that button, even if it seems like sometimes some threads slip through it

--> however I do like the idea of a kind of probation buffer zone for new members. But that'd create more work for whoever takes over that project, and it wouldn't always be consistent work either. This also includes the de-ranking of people, or even an absolute overhaul of the ranking system itself. You might ruffle a few feathers but overall it might be good going forward to preserve the integrity of the forums.

The one thing that I think would make this easier on everyone is having a stickied post on how the ranking system works though. I've been a part of these forums, off an on for a really long time but even I'm confused on how I'm so highly ranked. I'd think I'd be lower honestly lol (or am I just dumb and you already have that somewhere and I just haven't seen it?)

PS. I think the mods are doing a good job, they moderate EXTREMELY fast, like as in a day or two. Any truly negative thread is removed quickly. So let’s all chill out on the mods k.

Re: aggression on the forum, I haven't been on quite enough to notice it lately. Is that also something guys agree we are seeing a lot more of? Any idea behind causes, or we're just getting cliques forming and the cliques are fighting?

Having seen Reddit and Redpill forums before I came here, this place feels like a paradise, honestly.. there's no comparison to those forums and this is already well moderated.. but there are a few bad apples, unfortunately.. I guess one has to learn to just ignore them.. which also is part of self-development.

I guess it's just like living in a society.. you need such people to see the contrast and help you realise what/whom you want to become instead.. even they serve a purpose in the grand scheme of things

My take?
It's called testosterone.
Thank god we are real men with an inclination to occasionally butt heads.
As long as it doesn't become personal and the discussion is kept productive, I have no problem with it.
Otherwise, we have a mod board where we come together to deal with this type of issue.
About threads on the wrong place, just ask one of the mods to move it.
It's not that hard.

Do we have proposals for a.) what does and does not fit in General and b.) what should be the requirements to reach Rank 2 if this is what we want?
