Getting back in touch with her

Hey guys,
To quickly sum it up, there's a girl I used to have a thing with. We were really into each other but live in different states. She got a boyfriend several months ago. I cut social media a few months ago and we haven't texted so have had no interaction with her.
I tend to think about her a decent amount. We just really got along well. I have been going out and sleeping with girls and meeting lots of girls, but still have not run into one that I get along with like this girl.
Do I just wait until I run into her one day (eventually I would because of mutual friends) or until she texts me? Is initiating contact just a no go?

Nothing wrong with wishing her a Happy Holiday. If you two have a common hometown you might arrange a meetup. Never hurts to plant a seed for the future.

I sent a LinkedIn message a college lady friend who I knew had just gone through a divorce as I was travelling through her hometown. She called me within 15 minutes and she had moved to Denver. She gave every indication of being available, just the distance wasn't going to work. I made her promise she would drop me a line the next time she travelled through my neck of the woods.

TwoRocky, not a bad idea. That's pretty much what I'm wondering about: planting a seed. What are some other good ways of contacting a girl to get in touch and get the ball rolling, so if you talk to her/meet up with her down the line it's less out of the blue?
